Finalist in the International Emmy Awards for her choreography of an NHK educational television program.
Ms. Arai’s choreography/composition achievements include television programs such as “Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra’s “Yomikyo (YNSO) Symphonic Live,” “Untitled Concert” and “Enter The Music”, as well as numerous concerts. She is also involved in workshops and device research & development to support people with disabilities at the Tokyo University of the Arts Center of Innovation (COI).
Publications include: “Ohanashi Classic” (Essays on major works in classical music; Artes Publishing Inc.), “Atama no Yoi Ko ga Sodatsu Classic Meikyoku” (Well-known classical works for raising bright children, Shinsei Publishing Co., Ltd.), “Ongakuka Monogatari” (Tales of Composers (series); Ongaku No Tomo Sha Corp.) and more.
Current posts: Project Professor, Tokyo University of the Arts; Visiting Professor, Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.
Ms. Arai also served as Director of the Yokohama Sound Festival in 2013, 2016 and 2019.
